Thanks to Pinterest, wine cork DIY projects have become very popular. As an avid wine drinker and a life-long crafter, I was immediately on board with this trend. I took an idea I had seen often (a corkboard) and gave it a little twist–making a desktop version with the back of an inexpensive frame. If you’re decorating on a budget, you can recreate this DIY corkboard with only a few supplies and a little time!

Wine Cork DIY Desktop Corkboard Supplies– 25 Wine Corks
– Inexpensive 8” x 10” Frame
– Paint (I used Plum by Making Memories.)
– Foam Paint Brush
– Tacky Glue or a Glue Gun
– Push-pins
– Rhinestones (Optional)

  1. Cut the wine corks in half. I’m a little embarrassed that I didn’t think about this until I was halfway through gluing full corks. My board has 50 corks. That’s a lot of wine.

  2. Take the back out of an inexpensive frame and paint it the color of your choice. Let it dry fully.

  3. Glue the corks on the frame back. I used a 2 x 2 pattern. Let it dry fully with a heavy book on top of it.

  4. If you’re like me and you prefer a little bling, glue rhinestones on the tops of push-pins.

  5. Enjoy your beautiful wine cork DIY project! I finished mine off with a photo of my husband and me at a winery in Napa Valley.
