Yoga at Home: 3 Early-Morning Moves To Start Your Day

People’s busy lifestyles often cause them to skip the gym after work and postpone the next workout to the end of the week. If you’re a procrastinator or you need extra energy throughout the day, consider doing yoga at home. When you complete the workout in the morning, you’ll also have a natural caffeine-free boost to your day. Here are five yoga poses to help you do just that:

Mountain Pose

For this pose, stand tall with your feet close together. Your shoulders should be relaxed while your arms are resting at your side. Then take a deep breath and raise each hand over your head and keep them there with your palms facing each other.

Downward Dog

Most people have heard of this classic yoga pose, but if you aren’t familiar with it, the move involves propping yourself up on your hands and feet and extending your behind upward. As a result, your arms and legs are strengthened and your shoulders, thighs, feet and hands feel energized.

Locust Pose

While laying down on your stomach, raise your feet slightly off the floor. Do the same with your hands and keep all four limbs parallel to the ground. Next, lift your head and look straight forward. In the locust pose you are stretching your shoulders, abs, thighs and chest.
